Birgi
t Stauber wird in Wien als Tochter eines Arztes geboren, mit künstlerischen Wurzeln mütterlicherseits: Großvater Hans ist fahrender Musikant. Im Alter von 3 Jahren besucht Birgit die Ballettschule und steht mit 5 zum ersten Mal auf der Bühne. Ihre Kindheit ist inspiriert von Danny Kaye, den alten MGM Musicals und Musicals wie Jesus Christ Superstar oder West Side Story. Nach dem Abbruch ihres Medizinstudiums macht sie eine Musicalausbildung in Wien, 
eine ihrer ersten Rollen ist das Rotkäppchen in Into The Woods von Stephen Sondheim.
Birgits TV-Debut ist auch ihre erste Hauptrolle, das Mariandl im österreichischen Remake Hofrat Geiger, an der Seite von Christiane Hörbiger und Peter Weck. 1998 gewinnt Birgit den Deutschen Rising Movie Talent Award und geht nach Los Angeles, um dort Filmschauspiel zu studieren. Zurück in Wien schließt sie ihr Studium für Musiktheaterregie ab und zieht nach Berlin.
Im Europäischen Fernsehen wird sie durch ihre Hauptrolle Rabe in der Deutschen Actionserie Wilde Engel bekannt. Der gleichnamige Film gewinnt den Taurus Stunt Award in Los Angeles, Birgit wird für die
Romy (Österreichischer Fernsehpreis) als Shooting Star nominiert und die Serie läuft erfolgreich in Frankreich, den Niederlanden, Spanien, Portugal, Kroatien und Ungarn.
Ihre Tanzkenntnisse 
erweitert Birgit durch Kathak (Nordindischer Klassischer Tanz), ihre Liebe zum Geschichten-erzählen spiegelt sich im Schreiben von Drehbüchern nieder.
Die Jugendkömodie Freak City (Drehbuchautorin & Produzentin: Birgit Stauber) gewinnt eines von vier Wim Wenders Stipendien. Aktuell ist der Film in der Festivalauswertung, der Kinostart ist für Mai 2021 geplant.

Birgit Stauber is an actress, writer and director. Born in Vienna/Austria as a daughter of a doctor, her musical background is led back to her maternal side: grandfather Hans is a touring minstrel. Birgit attends ballet school with 3 years and has her stage debut at an age of 5. Her childhood is deeply inspired by Danny Kaye, the old MGM Musicals and Musicals like Jesus Christ Superstar or Hair. She quits her medicine studies in favor to studying musical theater in Vienna, one of her first roles is Little Red Ridinghood in Into The Woods by Stephen Sondheim.
Birgit´s television debut is also her first leading role: the Mariandl in the Austrian remake Hofrat Geiger, playing side by side with Christiane Hörbiger, Fritz Karl and
Peter Weck. In 1998 Birgit wins the German Rising Movie Talent Award and goes to Los Angeles to study film acting. Back in Vienna she finishes her studies in Directing Musical Theater and moves to Berlin.
On European television she becomes widely known with her lead role Rabe (English: raven) in the German Action Comedy Wilde Engel. The film wins the Taurus Stunt Award in Los Angeles, Stauber is nominated Shooting Star for the Austrian TV Award Romy and the TV Series 3 Wild Angels is sold to France, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Croatia and Hungary.
Birgit enlarges her dance skills with studying Kathak (Classical North Indian Dance), her passion for storytelling is reflected in writing screenplays. The Lovestory Freak City (screenwriter & producer: Birgit Stauber) wins a Wim Wenders Scholarship. Right now the film is on festival tour, cinematic release is planned for May 2021.
